Stûv 30 compact

Optimum performance and amazing adaptability

Stûv 30-compact, a revolutionary wood-burning stove!

Compact, simple and clean, you get three ways of using this innovative and high-performance wood-burning stove.

Three doors, three moods

Three doors, three moods Changing mode takes only a few seconds: all that has to be done is to rotate the drum of your Stûv 30-compact until the required door is located in front of the stove’s opening.

The glass door gives a great view of the flames, making sure that the stove is safe and eco-friendly while saving you money, thanks to its excellent performance.
The full door slows the fire down and optimises performance.
Open-fire mode allows you to get the full benefit of the crackling flames, the smell of the wood ... and even a barbecue!

Profit by 360 %

In order to take maximum advantage of the enveloping heat and the unrestricted view of the flames, the Stûv 30-compact and the Stûv 30-compact H can be installed on an invisible swivel base. So, for example, you can point the stove toward the lounge, and then towards the dining room.

Connection to outside air

The Stûv 30 can be connected to the outside air, either under the device or behind the stove.

Connection to the outside air offers the following advantages:

  • The combustion air is captured outside the building. Without this connection air is captured within the building, and must be compensated by an air intake (cold) within the building. The total output of the installation is therefore much higher with an external connection.
  • The combustion circuit (combustion air and smoke) is sealed and does not disturb the Controlled Mechanical Ventilation.

Operating mode

  1. Combustion air.
Illustration with direct air intake under the stove. The external air intake can also be located at the rear of the device.
  2. Combustion.
The air intake, the combustion chamber and smoke evacuation form an air-tight system.
  3. The air is captured in the living room and is heated by the device.
  4. The convection air circulates throughout the combustion chamber and captures heat from the smoke.
  5. The heated air comes out of the device naturally and spreads within the room.
  6. The smoke is evacuated into the flue. Illustration with top outlet, also exists with rear outlet.
  7. Purge air chases the smoke from the window. This way, you can continuously benefit from watching the flames.

Stûv 30-compact H

The highest form of accumulation

The Stûv 30-compact H can be fitted with a storage core which stores a part of the heat.  Once the stove goes out, the accumulated energy continues to be diffused over several hours, thus prolonging the feeling of heat and well-being.

With the glass door, you can make the most of watching the flames in complete safety and with excelent output. Proof of its economic and eco-friendly operation.

In idling (smouldering) mode, the solid door with its heat loop channels heat to the storage core. This hides the combustion chamber when the stove is not being used.

In open fire mode, you can hear the flames crackling, breathe in the lovely smell of the fire.... Or you can also have a barbeque.

The Stûv 30 compact-H can be connected to the outside air, either under the device or behind the stove.

Heat storage

The Stûv 30-compact can be fitted with a storage core that stores part of the heat.
Once the fire goes out, the stored energy continues to be diffused for several hours, extending the feeling of warmth and well-being.

  1. Lighting: Most of the heat is used to heat up the room while some is stored in the accumulator.
  2. Accumulation: Closed-door mode prevents the diffusion of heat through the glass and channels energy towards the accumulator.
  3. Restitution of the heat: Gradual restitution of the accumulated heat takes place after the fire dies out.

Ventilation

Various possibilities for distribution of hot air and optional fan.
The fan improves the circulation of hot air in the rom and makes the temperature uniform.
In order to obtain better heat comfort through uniformly distributed temperatures, we recommend that you apply the following principle:
A fan (located under the stove, for example) sucks ambient air through a network of ducts in the furthest locations in the room or in neighbouring areas, avoiding picking up heavy dust on the ground. Therefore negative pressure is created and consequently the heated air is returned through carefully arranged orifices.

Stûv Stories

Pleasure from heat, design and architecture

“Human fascination in the presence of fire perhaps comes from its power to completely stimulate the senses. The fire burns and sparkles with a glow that is ever-moving and changing…”, in Lisa Heschong, Thermal Delight in Architecture, MIT Press, 1979

Stûv Stories

Our products provide ways to layout and rearrange your interior. The story that they tell is straightforward and warm, simple and efficient. A story where appearance is functional and where objects blend into the architecture. Quality and perfection are the watchwords at Stûv. To improve is to simplify. This means humanising design. It also means constant innovation until a perfect harmony is found between pleasure and respect for the environment. Stûv, the essential fire.

Stûv and design

Design at Stûv is a state of mind that envisages each interaction between humans and objects throughout the object’s life-cycle. This design incorporates elements of function and form without harming either. The aesthetics of Stûv products is always justified. The form results from the function, the legibility and the semantics of the object and good use of the materials and implementation techniques used.
Stûv develops products that respond to actual needs, whether these are practical, physiological or psychological. An object that meets its function poorly causes frustration and as a result needs to be reconsidered.
The solutions developed by Stûv must always take account of the concerns of all the people who, at one time or another in the object’s lifecycle, come into contact with it: those who manufacture the object, those who install it, those who service it and those who use it.

Stûv and architecture

The form of the products cannot be separated from the architecture into which they are incorporated.
These products are not subject to the architecture. They respect it whilst inspiring it with new avenues. The formal simplicity of the products makes it possible to build them into any type of interior.

Stûv and innovation

“ Innovation is a complex process which involves, to various degrees, all the skills in a company.
The formal coherence of the product, for which the designer is the guarantor, is a reflection of the cohesion of the team.”
Gérard Pitance, industrial designer and co-founder of Stûv

Who are we?

A Belgian company based in the Namur Province in Bois-de-Villers, Stûv designs, produces and markets individual heating solutions that use wood, gas and pellets (stoves, inserts, fireplaces) designed to magnify the flame for both practical and emotional purposes (the beauty of the flame, pleasure, that welcoming feeling and the thermal benefits).

To do this, Stûv is committed to creativity, design, the quality of the products developed and their ability to live up to consumers' expectations, as well as placing real importance in human values.
